In Galloway I discovered that I was close to a very well known Breeder of Foxies, mainly of the Smooth kind, Andrew Clanachan – who proved to be a most knowledgeable and kindly person, ever helpful to the ‘invader’ who loved Fox Terriers and whose interest had been further roused by photographs of his Champion born in 1948 – Ch Maryholm Spun Gold – that had gained his first CC at eight months. He readily set about the task of breeding, hopefully a ‘good un’. I was indeed fortunate. My first Smooth proved to become Champion Maryholm Scotch Gold at Corriecote. She has been a pleasure to show with much pride and I thank you ‘Clan’ for such a great foundation.”
